GSC Wk 3, Plus Some Musings

It felt weird, having my last class today. And it's even weirder knowing that I'm not completely done yet, either. One more huge paper and then two finals, and that's it. As far as I'm concerned, I'm already mentally gone, but that's another matter altogether. It's disheartening to know that we have just a little over a week and a half left together on this floor, but I'm also looking forward to summer (a much-needed break).

But in the meantime, here are the answers from last week's Game Show Challenge:

Wheel Puzzles:

$1000: FOOD COURT
$2000: GOURMET
$3000: PAPERWEIGHT

Feud:
Name a specific place you'd hate to be if there was a major power failure.
1. Elevator (36)

3. Work/Office bldg. (9)
4. Mall/Store (7)
5. Home/Basement (7)
6. Doctor/Surgery (6)

Name a big city in Texas.
1. Houston (40)
2. Dallas (37)
3. Austin (9)
4. San Antonio (8)

Jeopardy!:

What is the Holy Grail?

$400 YOU ONLY NEED TO BUY 1 VOWEL

What is Dutch?

Week 2 Leaderboard:
Steve: 3000 (Wheel) + 138 (Feud) + 400 (Jeopardy) = 3538
Tara: 1000 (Wheel) + 130 (Feud) + 97 (Feud Sweep Bonus) = 1227

On to Week Three. Let me clarify a few rules:
--For Feud, you are trying to guess all the answers on the survey at once. If you get them all, the points for that board are doubled.
--Wheel and Jeopardy are pretty self-explanatory.

Wheel:
$1000 PUZZLE: ON THE MAP
N E _ / E N _ L _ N _
S T _ T E S
RSTLNE + MCFO

$2000 PUZZLE: FOOD AND DRINK
_ E R S _ E _ ' S
_ _ S S E S
RSTLNE + MDPO

$3000 PUZZLE: BEFORE AND AFTER
_ _ I _ / S H _ _ / _ N D / T E L L
RSTLNE + HCDI

Feud:
Name a magazine that gives people tips about improving their sex life. (6)

Besides family, name someone a rich person might leave money to in their will. (4)

Jeopardy!:
$800 FOOD FESTIVALS
The largest ethnic festival in Arkansas highlights foods from this country, like gyros and souvlaki

$2000 CLASS "E" (mind the quotation marks)
Often paired with public health, it's the branch of medicine that deals with outbreaks of infectious diseases

You have a week to comment with your answers. Good luck!
