Seattle!

Hi everyone!
So I went to Seattle for a week to visit my friend Marissa at UW and I was super sick and it was raining most of the time I was there but we had an amazing time! We went to a billion places and acted like total tourists which was pretty cool. I definitely needed to get away from LA for a little bit and this helped a lot but I really missed you guys and wish you were there with me!

Summary of Seattle:

Homeless people (very very very very young, under the age of 25 at least), gay people, redheaded people, people who drink coffee, green people, those who are visiting from Portland who look even more green, white and redheaded, little cafes and shops everywhere, everyone looks like Kevin and kinda like Anish’s friend Cory (basically everyone’s white), everywhere looks like it belongs in a Kurt Cobain biography (kinda) or a Fleet Foxes/Band of Horses’ song. And, also, everyone here rides the bus, they have lots of pretty bridges and there are barely any freeways, it’s the greatest thing! So, basically Seattle’s pretty much AWESOME!

I wouldn’t ever think about leaving USC but there were definitely moments at UW where I was just super jealous. I mean they basically have a mini grocery store/marukai right downstairs from where they live and they have all these cute college hangout places where you go and drink coffee and do homework or play board games and it’s just so adorable! They have this street called the Ave with everything you would ever want, a billion Pho restaurants and boba places (I had a honey dew slush with tapioca the other day and it was amazing!!!!), this cute little theater with only independent films, American Apparel, Urban Outfitters and just so much more! But all these awesome things can’t complete with the best thing about USC which is of course you guys and the time we spent on BK4!

My friend Marissa took like a billion pictures so here’s a sample of how we spent our time:

We went to the Seattle Art Museum (SAM)

There were floating cars! (It's a car crash!)

And the Kurt Cobain exhibit!

And the Andy Warhol exhibit where there was a video of this really hot guy named Gino Piserchio and other people!

And this armor thing made up of dog tags :(

We went to an erotic bakery to buy presents for my friend's friend's birthday

We went to the Pike's place market and saw these:

It asks you to look good for Jesus...

And Super Obama!!!

I really love the buildings in Seattle!

We went to the very first Starbucks!

And had Yan Yan with adorable Engrish messages!

That night we made boob cupcakes for her friend's birthday

And penis cupcakes!

Tthis is the view out of their windows, isn't gorgeous?!?!?!

Another beautiful view!

Me and the Husky!

THEY HAVE A HARRY POTTER ROOM IN ONE OF THEIR LIBRARIES!

My friend won an award at her building government meeting for having reallllllllllly long hair...

This reminded me of Anish and Malia

And this reminded me of Malia again

And this just made me really sad :(

We went to the Space Needle!

And saw the EMP!

And this made me really happy!!!

My friend's building had this concert the last night I was there and I was a volunteer!

I sold merchandise and ended up getting free stuff, yay!

Great Waves were really amazing and they had just won Sound Off! at the EMP, def give them a listen!

Us on Roofs's lead singer was super cute!

And Dyno Jamz were incredible, I wasn't expecting anything like what they did!

Sorry about all these pictures, Marissa took more than 350 pictures and I just wanted to share some of my time in Seattle with you guys!

Miss you all mucho!

  3. also, maybe i'm being dumb, but i didnt get the queer statement. what does that mean "queer is not a 21+ identity"?

  4. I don't know exactly what they were trying to say but I thought it's because a lot of people wait until they are 18 or 21 to come out of the closet because they are adults and don't have to deal with problems at home and the quote is trying to say that it shouldn't be that way. I just assumed it was encouraging acceptance no matter what age you are.
