As you all know (shame on you if you didn't!) the newest versions of Pokemon, HeartGold and SoulSilver, were released March 14, 2010.Since I was overly excited for the game to come out, I preordered myself and my brother versions of this game WEEKS AGO. However, mine shipped before my brother's did and he canceled his order and his friend got SoulSilver at Best Buy for him the day it came out instead (despite him clearly stating that he wanted Gold....) and I had to sit through two torturous days of watching my room transform into a Pokemon battlefield. He and his 10 best friends (all juniors in high school) basically lived in my bedroom with their Nintendo DSes while I sat/sulked downstairs trying to do homework... Now my brother and I both own Soulsilvers, which sucks donkey nuts because this ruined our tradition of always getting opposite colors of the same version. AH!!!!!!!!!!! AWAHAHDIOKLWNALSDKLw.
My adventure as a Pokemon trainer began on Tuesday, March 16, 2010.
Out of the following three starter Pokemon, I chose Totodile. Sho cute. Water type FTW.
What's so great about the Pokemon world? For all you deprived children who have never before played Pokemon... (and those of you who have but are "too old" and "too cool" for it now)... this new version is 100% worth the $200 I spent to buy a Nintendo DS Lite and the new software.
Things to note about this new version:
1. INSANE GRAPHICS. The moves continue to blow my mind...
2. It brings us back to the golden days (hah) of the OG Yellow version with your starter pokemon following you around... and the pokemon aren't one color and blurry figures anymore. You can TELL what pokemon it is that's following you... Vulpix and Eevee look ADORABLE tagging along behind me. And you can talk to them and see how they're feeling and what they're doing!
3. Pokeathlon!!!! You enter your Pokemon in ridiculous contests and play a bunch of minigames within the Pokemon game itself
4. WiFi connection. You can battle with other people via wifi (people you know or strangers). You can also compete with them in the minigames at the Pokeathlon Dome...
5. The new Pokewalker accessory. It's a flashy little pokeball that you transfer one pokemon into at a time and take it with you throughout the day. It counts your steps, you receive gifts if you are in contact with someone else with a pokewalker, and you find mystery items! Then your pokemon levels up when you transfer it back into your DS.
The Pokemon world as we know it is over. This is the new and improved. At first it gave me a headache because there was too much going on with all the buildings actually looking like buildings and not walls and all the new ridiculous graphics buuuuuuuut I LOVE IT. IT'S ADDICTING. IT'S THE NEW DRUG. It has stripped me of my sleep and my sanity.
Succumb to the pressure, Steve. (Philippe, Quin, Christina, Tiffany, MALIA)
You will not regret it.
I realize that this is a shitty blog and 75% of you will not appreciate this at all buuuuut... I write to ma fans, not ma h8erz.
Buy this game so we can wifi it uUUUUUpppppp. <3

ReplyDeleteJJ! Don't be a hater about post 2nd gen! So anti-progressive! New features + new characters = beettttterr! I will probably get this game this summer Tandra, unless I happen to find myself in a best buy or target in the next few weeks.
